I am a designer by passion, not by trade.

I am a seasoned footwear designer with over 19 years of experience at the forefront of innovation in sports and lifestyle footwear. I didn’t take the traditional path through design school, but built my expertise through hands-on work and collaboration with some of the biggest names in basketball, including Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, and Blake Griffin.

My first year in the business, at AND1, taught me the ropes and gave me the tools I needed to push boundaries. After that rookie year, I honed my craft at Jordan Brand, where I developed my true design identity. My design philosophy centers on performance, style, and comfort, always with a keen focus on storytelling. To me, the connection between the consumer and their shoe goes beyond just function; it's about creating an emotional bond, an experience, and memories. Every design is meant to tell a story—whether it’s an athlete’s journey, a cultural movement, or a personal narrative. I believe that footwear should do more than look good or perform well, it should resonate with the wearer and connect them to something bigger than themselves.

Over the years, my unique perspective and passion for footwear design made me a go-to collaborator for top athletes seeking the perfect shoe to elevate their game on and off the court, but now, I have channeled my expertise into ROMP Creative, LLC, my own freelance design business. Here, I have worked with brands and creatives to bring bold, fresh ideas to life, as well as guiding the creative vision for CODE by gentry as their Creative Director. My work blends the worlds of sport, fashion, and innovation, all while staying true to my roots of real-world performance design.

My journey is a testament to the power of dedication, collaboration, and a relentless passion for design. During my journey, I will continue to challenge the limits of footwear, to shape the future of what’s next in both sport and style—while always keeping the human connection at the heart of everything I create.
